Singapore too Pro-Employers at Expenses of Singaporeans?

Referring Straits Times article "Seagate to shut plant" on 4 Aug, I was thinking with all the job credits and other perks to Companies to have less reasons to retrenched workers, Seagate harddisk maker announced retenching 2000 workers and move some of its operations to overseas, really sad... MNCs are taking advantages of Singapore and our ministers thinks they are doing this for good for Singapore.

Someone mentioned to me few days ago that he was tailgated by a truck in his CAR and said that the driver looked liked a China national. (typical "botak"head and fair looking male). I was thinking about that and was wondering why employers cannot employ Singaporean or even Malaysian as drivers since they are more familiar with local road condition. BTW China drives on the right side of the road and driver is on the left side of vehicles.

A China driver earns half or lesser compared to hiring Singaporean drivers, the company can easily get 2-3 drivers for price of 1 Singaporean drivers. But he will bring his driving habits to Singapore and youtube or internet got many horror accidents from China. I wonder if we have to wait for a person linked to some one important to get hurt before the government do something...

I cannot agree with Labour minister Mr Lim Swee Say who said Singapore have to increase productivity when economy recovers. 10 workers will have to do jobs of 12-13 workers. This directly will tell employers that its ok to cut cost by employing cheaper workers from China or Bangadesh. To increase productivity and save cost, in line with government policy right? BUT at expenses of Singaporeans.
