Singa the Courtesy Lion says ....

I was at the Hill Street (between Central Fire Station and MICA) and saw many "Singa the Courtesy Lions". I thought they are part of the NDP celebration items on display. One caught my eyes and its was about the National Pledge. On close up, I saw a cute Singa the Lion printed on the T-shirt the Singa was wearing; with its right hand clenched to the heart!

The description on the Singa says" Our National Pledge: Singapore's National Pledge was written by Singapore's first Minister of Foreign Affair S. Rajaratham in 1966. His inspiration was to build "a Singapore we are proud of "while emphasising unity and multi-racial harmony.""

Singa did not say "His ASPIRATION was to build Singapore we are proud of while emphasising unity and multi-racial harmony." Aspiration of 44 years is really a long time......

This is the Parliament speech that NMP Viswa gave that started MM Lee's "Demolition".
