Rochor Canal - Revisit

was at Sim Lim to buy a software yesterday and this day it rained and I was there with sufficient sunlight to take a closer look at the water at Rochor Canal. I thought that the rain will be able to "wash" the silts I seen in the Rochor Canal in the previous Blog, but I was wrong.

With the evening sunlight available, I was able to see clearly the dirt, silts and slight oil slick in the Rochor Canal. Is the Marina Barrage is suppose to be another fresh water reservoir to provide "Newater"? Not fit for human consumption except for flushing or to be channel to our treatment plant for futher treatment?

The Marina Barrage is "fed" by mainly by 2 major rivers, Singapore River and Kallang River. Kallang River is the most complex because it was also fed by other smaller rivers or canals such as Rochor Canal. These canals are fed by drains too. I hoped that those MM Lee and NEA planners got their maths correct and the water that comes out from the Marina Barrage is fit for consumption. Or else not many chances to go for cooking classes!
